Chilli Prawns

Ingredients

2 tsp olive oil

1 tsp chopped garlic

1 tsp chopped onion

½ tsp finely-chopped celery

1 fresh red chilli, chopped

1 tsp apple cider

1 tbsp stock

1 tbsp salted butter

½ tsp julienned basil

10 prawns

Salt and pepper to taste

Easy to Make But Impressive Shrimp Dish Will Make Your Guests AmazedMethod 

  1. Heat a pan on the stove over a medium flame, and add the olive oil.
  2. Once the oil is hot, add the chopped garlic, onion and celery. Cook until the onion and celery are translucent and soft (about two to three minutes). Stir frequently.
  3. Add the chopped red chilli to the pan and continue to cook for another minute.
  4. When the garlic starts turning golden, pour the apple cider into the pan. Gently scrape up any bits stuck to the pan’s bottom (deglazing helps incorporate all the flavours).
  5. Pour in the stock and stir to mix everything together.
  6. Lower the flame to low-medium. Add the butter and basil and cook, stirring, until the butter is fully melted and everything is well combined, creating a smooth sauce.
  7. Add the prawns to the pan, and cook them, stirring occasionally, until they turn pink and are cooked through (about three to four minutes). Taste the dish and add salt and pepper to taste.
